Board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner

I opened Dakota Psychiatric Care because everyone deserves compassionate, respectful and accessible mental healthcare. My background is in nursing, across long-term care and psychiatric settings, and I work with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and related mental health challenges.

I want this to be the first place you think to turn when something feels off: worry that will not quiet down, a hard stretch after having a baby, or changes that come later in life.

More about Agatha

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • I can't stop worrying about life.
  • I have been feeling very anxious lately.
  • Since the baby came, I don't feel like myself.
  • I have been feeling low for a while, and I don't know who to ask.

You don't need the right words to reach out. Say it however it comes out, and we start from there.

Why Maternal Mental Health Sits at the Center

My baby was born prematurely at just 26 weeks. I know the uncertainty of a high-risk birth and of caring for a medically fragile infant, and I saw how much emotional support matters for mothers and families in those months.

That is why postpartum depression and anxiety are a focus here. If you are pregnant, newly home with a baby, or still carrying a hard birth, you can bring all of it.

How Care Works

Psychiatric care here is individualized and collaborative. You know your body, I bring the clinical expertise, and medication decisions are made together.

Alongside medication management, I draw on CBT and DBT, and we keep your overall wellness in view, not only a list of symptoms.

Questions People Ask

What is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner?

A nurse practitioner with advanced training and board certification in psychiatric mental health care. I evaluate mental health conditions, develop treatment plans and provide medication management.

Do I have to take medication?

That is a decision we make together. A plan may include medication management and other supportive interventions, and you know your body.

What happens at the first appointment?

The initial evaluation runs 60 to 90 minutes. I take time to understand your history, your current concerns and what brought you in, so we leave with a clear, shared understanding of your needs and the next steps.

Who do you see?

Teens 13 to 17, young adults, adults and seniors, including new mothers and healthcare workers.

Can I be seen in person or by telehealth?

Both. In-person appointments are at the Minot office, and telehealth is available in North Dakota and Iowa. Evening appointments are available on request.

Is this a crisis service?

No. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 or call 911.
