What is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner?
A nurse practitioner with advanced training and board certification in psychiatric mental health care. I evaluate mental health conditions, develop treatment plans and provide medication management.
Is this the same as seeing a therapist?
Not quite. My focus is psychiatric care, with supportive interventions that can include CBT and DBT skills.
What conditions do you treat?
Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, OCD, trauma and PTSD, along with perinatal and later-life mental health concerns.
Who do you see?
Teens 13 to 17, young adults, adults and seniors, including new mothers and healthcare workers.

About Medication
Do I have to take medication?
That is a decision we make together. A plan may include medication management and other supportive interventions, and you know your body.
Will medication make this go away?
I can't promise what any treatment will do. People respond differently, which is why we follow up regularly and adjust the plan.
What if I have side effects?
Please contact the practice. Don't wait for your next session if a side effect is severe or worrying, and call 911 in an emergency.
About Appointments and Cost
What happens at the first appointment?
The initial evaluation runs 60 to 90 minutes, in person or by telehealth. We go through your concerns and history and develop a personalized plan.
How much does it cost?
The consult is free, the initial evaluation is $300 and follow-up sessions are $125.
Do you take insurance?
Most of my clients pay privately, and I can provide a superbill if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24-hour notice. A late cancellation or missed session carries a $45 fee.
Do you have evening appointments?
Evening appointments are available on request.
Where can I be seen?
In person at 700 Western Ave SW, Suite 100, in Minot, or by telehealth in North Dakota or Iowa.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes.
Is this a crisis service?
No. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 or call 911.
