- I can't relax into this pregnancy.
- Every twinge sends me looking for answers online.
- After last time, I'm scared to get my hopes up.
- I lie awake running through everything that might happen.
However this pregnancy is going, your worry is worth taking seriously.

Worry While You Are Expecting
Pregnancy can bring excitement and fear at the same time, and the fear does not always match how the pregnancy is actually going. You might feel anxious about the baby's health, about the birth itself, or about how you will cope once the baby is here.
Some worry has roots in the past: an earlier loss, a hard previous birth, or a history of anxiety or depression. Some arrives with no clear reason. Perinatal care, which covers pregnancy as well as the months after birth, is my primary specialty, and all of it is welcome here.
Parts of Pregnancy We Can Talk Through
The evaluation makes room for the worry itself and for everything around it.
Worry About the Baby or Birth
Fears about the baby's health, about labor and delivery, or about events you can't control, and how much of your day those fears take up.
Sleep and Rest
Getting comfortable at night is hard enough. A mind that won't settle at bedtime adds to it, and both shape how you feel by day.
What You Carry From Before
A past loss, a difficult earlier birth, or anxiety or depression you have lived with before, and how any of it shows up in this pregnancy.
Planning for After the Birth
Thinking ahead about sleep, support at home and how you will look after your own mental health once the baby arrives.
How Care Begins During Pregnancy
The steps are the same whether you are early in pregnancy or close to your due date.

- 1
Free 15-Minute Consult
A short phone conversation to share what has been worrying you and ask your questions, at no cost to you.
- 2
Initial Evaluation
60 to 90 minutes at the Minot office or by telehealth from a private spot at home. We cover your history, this pregnancy, your worries and what you want care to look like.
- 3
Follow-Up Sessions
30 to 45 minutes to see how you are feeling as the months go by, and to adjust the plan when something changes.
Looking After You, Too
So much attention in pregnancy goes to the baby, and that makes sense. Your own brain health and overall wellness deserve attention too, now and in the months after the birth. We work toward understanding what is driving the worry and making a plan you helped shape, one that looks ahead to life with a newborn.
I can't promise how quickly the worry will ease, and I won't put a timeline on it. We keep checking in through the rest of the pregnancy and adjust as your needs change. Care can continue after the baby arrives, because the months after birth are part of the same specialty.
Fees in Brief
Your first step, a 15-minute phone consult, is free. After that, the initial evaluation is $300 and follow-up sessions are $125.

Questions About Care During Pregnancy
Is it too early in the pregnancy to reach out?
It isn't. Worry is worth talking about at any stage, and starting early leaves more time to plan for after the birth.
Can I be seen without leaving home?
Yes. The evaluation can be by telehealth in North Dakota or Iowa, from a private spot where you can talk freely.
Can I talk about a hard past pregnancy or birth?
Yes. What happened before can shape how this pregnancy feels, and it belongs in the conversation. You can share as much or as little as you want.

You can talk about this before the baby arrives
