When Getting Out the Door Is Hard
This page is for women anywhere in North Dakota who are pregnant or have recently had a baby, and for whom travel is hard right now. Perinatal mental health is my primary specialty, and telehealth lets your evaluation happen at home instead of in Minot.
You might be late in pregnancy and done with long car rides. You might have a newborn, no one to watch the baby, and a body still healing from the birth. Your baby may have spent time in intensive care, and leaving home still feels like a lot. For the evaluation itself, it helps to have:
- A private spot where you can talk freely, even if it isn't quiet.
- Water, a snack and anything the baby might need, within reach.
- A few notes on how you have been and what you want to ask.
- A time that suits your day; evening appointments are available on request.
What We Cover in the Evaluation
The evaluation runs 60 to 90 minutes, and you set the pace on how much you share.
Your Pregnancy or Birth
How the pregnancy has gone so far, or how the birth went, including anything frightening or unexpected along the way.
How You Have Been Feeling
Low mood, worry, numbness, irritability or dread, and whether any of it matches what you expected to feel.
Rest, Appetite and Healing
How much sleep you are getting, how you are eating and how your body is recovering. These shape how you feel from one day to the next.
Support and What You Want
Who you can lean on, where you feel stretched thin, and what you would like care to look like from here.
How to Start From Home
There are three steps, and the first is a short phone call.

- 1
Free 15-Minute Phone Consult
Tell me a little about how you have been, and ask what you want to know about care during pregnancy or after birth.
- 2
Your Telehealth Evaluation
60 to 90 minutes and $300, from a private spot at home where you can talk freely. The baby can be with you.
- 3
Follow-Up Sessions
30 to 45 minutes to check in on how you are feeling and change the plan as your needs shift around the birth.
What We Work Toward
No one can tell you exactly how the months around a birth will go, and I won't put a timeline on how you will feel. What I can give you is time, honest answers and a plan you help write, with your overall wellness in view.
Looking after your own mental health is part of looking after the baby, not a step away from it. Your own sleep, worries and recovery belong in the conversation as much as the baby's. Wherever you live in North Dakota, you deserve care that leaves you feeling seen, heard and supported.
Fees in Brief
The 15-minute phone consult is free. The initial evaluation is $300 by telehealth, and most of my clients pay privately.

Questions About Perinatal Telehealth
Can I be seen by telehealth while I'm pregnant?
Yes. Telehealth is available anywhere in North Dakota during pregnancy and after birth, so you can start before the baby arrives or after.
Do I need someone to watch the baby during the evaluation?
It can help, but you don't need it to begin. If the baby needs you partway through, tell me, and we can pause until you are settled.
What should I do if I have thoughts of harming myself or the baby?
Call or text 988 or call 911 right now. You deserve help immediately, and this site is not an emergency service.
