Close Enough to Come In

Velva is a short drive from Minot, which makes in-person care an easy choice. If you would rather talk face to face, you can come to my office for your evaluation and for your follow-up sessions, and sit across from the person who is listening.

Life does not always cooperate, though. If leaving home is hard for a while, after a new baby, through an illness or in a rough stretch of winter, telehealth is available too, from somewhere private at home where you can talk freely.

Who I Work With

Long-term care nursing gave me a particular interest in mental health later in life, and perinatal mental health, during pregnancy and after birth, is my primary specialty. I see teens 13 to 17, young adults, adults and seniors, healthcare workers among them, and every visit is with me.

A short drive can still be a hard one when you are recovering from a birth, or when getting around takes more out of you than it used to. That is part of why telehealth sits alongside the office. I also treat the concerns below.

  • Worry and low mood that can make ordinary days harder.
  • The aftermath of trauma, including PTSD.
  • OCD, and bipolar disorders that call for steady follow-up.
  • Behavioral changes that can come with dementia.
