Care for People in Iowa

I am cleared to provide telehealth in Iowa, so your evaluation can happen from home. There is no office in Iowa; my only office is in Minot, North Dakota. What you need is simple: a private spot where you can talk freely, and 60 to 90 minutes set aside for the evaluation.

I see teens from 13 to 17, young adults, adults and seniors, and that includes new mothers and healthcare workers. Care is individualized and collaborative, so your plan is built around your history, your stage of life and what you want care to look like.

What I Treat

Evidence-based psychiatric care for a range of concerns, with perinatal mental health as my primary specialty.

Pregnancy and After Birth

Worry or low mood during pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, and the months that follow a high-risk birth.

Anxiety, Depression and Bipolar Disorders

Worry that keeps running, low mood that lingers, and the highs and lows of a bipolar disorder, each looked at carefully over time.

Trauma, PTSD and OCD

Nightmares, feeling on guard and steering around reminders of a hard event, along with unwanted thoughts and rituals that eat into your day.

Concerns Later in Life

Depression, anxiety and dementia-related behavioral changes in older adults, an interest that grew out of my nursing work in long-term care.

How to Start From Iowa

Care starts with a phone call and an evaluation you can have from home.

  1. 1

    Free 15-Minute Phone Consult

Ask what you want to know about care from Iowa, and share as much or as little as you like about what is going on.

  2. 2

    Initial Evaluation by Telehealth

60 to 90 minutes and $300. We talk through what brought you in, your history and your life right now, and make a plan together.

  3. 3

    Follow-Up Sessions

Shorter sessions, 30 to 45 minutes each, to look at what has changed and fine-tune the plan. Ask during the consult how they would be arranged for you.

Care Built Around You

Wherever you live in Iowa, care here is individualized. There is no standard script, decisions are made together, and your overall wellness stays in view alongside the symptoms that brought you in. You bring what you know about your own life, and I bring the clinical side.

People respond to treatment differently, so I can't promise how quickly anything will change. What we work toward is a clearer picture of what is going on and a plan you helped make, reviewed and adjusted as we go. If something is not working, we say so and change course together.

Questions About Telehealth in Iowa

Is there an office in Iowa?

There isn't. The practice has one office, in Minot, North Dakota, and telehealth appointments are available for clients in Iowa.

Can I ask questions before I book an evaluation?

Yes. The free 15-minute phone consult is for exactly that: asking what you want to know and seeing whether this feels like a fit.

How does paying for care work?

Most of my clients pay privately. I can provide a superbill, an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance plan, if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement, so it is worth checking with your plan first.
