- My days off don't feel like rest anymore.
- I sit in the parking lot before every shift.
- I feel numb at work, and that scares me.
- I can spot burnout in anyone but me.
If one of these sounds like you, that is enough to start a conversation.

For the People I Used to Work Beside
Burnout in healthcare work can build quietly. You keep showing up, you keep caring for patients and residents, and somewhere along the way the tiredness stops lifting on your days off. My own background is in nursing, across long-term care and psychiatric settings, so the pace and the weight of the job won't need translating.
This page is for nurses, aides, techs and others whose job is caring for people, and who are starting to feel the cost. You might dread the next shift, feel flat at work, or snap at home in a way that doesn't feel like you. Burnout can also sit alongside depression or anxiety, and part of the evaluation is untangling which is which.
Where Burnout Can Show Up
What happens on shift doesn't always stay at work, so we look at your whole week, not only the job.
Days Off That Don't Restore You
Sleeping in, a quiet weekend, even time away, and you still go back feeling as drained as when you left.
Dread Before the Shift
A sinking feeling the evening before, trouble sleeping ahead of a long stretch, or counting the hours from the moment you clock in.
Numb at Work, Short at Home
Going through the motions with patients, then having little patience left for the people at home, and not liking either version of yourself.
Depression or Anxiety Alongside It
Low mood that lingers, worry that won't switch off, or changes in sleep and appetite. These can travel with burnout and shape the plan.
Starting Care Around Your Shifts
Evening appointments are available on request, which can help when someone else sets your schedule.

Regular Follow-Up Sessions
30 to 45 minutes to look at what has shifted, review any medication and side effects, and adjust the plan with you.
What We Aim For
I won't hand you a list of self-care tips. What we aim for is an honest look at what the work is costing you, from sleep and mood to the way you show up at home, and a plan shaped around that. Depending on what we find, the plan may include medication management along with CBT or DBT skills.
How quickly anything eases is different for everyone, so I won't guess at it. We keep reviewing and adjusting together, and you are the one who tells me whether the plan fits the life you actually have, including the shifts you can't change.
Fees in Brief
The 15-minute phone consult is free, the initial evaluation is $300 and follow-up sessions are $125. If you plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement, I can provide a superbill.

Questions About Burnout
How do I know if this is burnout or something more?
We work through that question together in the evaluation. Burnout, depression and anxiety can overlap, and from the inside they can feel a lot alike.
I'm worried about privacy and my job. Can we talk about that first?
Yes. This is a solo practice, so I am the person you see at every visit. Bring any worries about privacy to the free 15-minute consult, and ask about them before you decide on anything else.
What if my schedule changes from week to week?
Evening appointments are available on request, and the initial evaluation can be in person in Minot or by telehealth in North Dakota or Iowa. We can talk about what might work when we first speak.
